Josie's Easter weekend

Josie had quite an Easter weekend! On Saturday, we participated
in the Might Texas Dog Walk, and boy, did she make a lot of
new friends, a few of them silly redheads. I don't think we broke
the Guinness record for the most dogs on a walk, but we gave
it a try (Britain currently holds the records with over 10,000
dogs...yikes!). Unfortunately, Josie's mom was a knucklehead
and forgot he camera.

But I had it afterwards when we went to the country to have
an Easter barbecue for the family. She just loves zooming
around and sitting pretty in the bluebonnets.

Such a pretty puppy in the posies!

Taking a break to cuddle with Mark.

Master of all she sees!

Ren's Louisiana trip

(Blogger note: sorry for the delay. This is from Ren from April 5th)

Hi, sibs!
Mom took me somewhere WARM this time I like warm.
I HATE being cold.

First I met the older boys. They loved me, of course.

Then I met some puppies. Mom says I was that size just
three months ago. No way! It was pretty cool being the
"adult" for a change.

The puppies had an outdoor playpen. On the other side
of the driveway there was a horse pasture with
delicious smelly poop. Mom got really repressive
again--she does that sometimes--and washed the
poop off and wouldn't let me get back in it.
Bummer.

I met the puppies' mother and she was really nice.
We played and washed each other's ears.

I slept on the big couch with Mom.

The next morning the humans did something called
"puppy testing." Mom told me I had flunked mine
when I was little. Must have been a stupid tester,
since obviously I am WONDERFUL. Look at me
pointing chukar!

People came to get their puppies and the humans piled
lots of food they called "crawfish" on a long table outside
and ate out there. That was fun! (I was very good and
lay down without being asked, so Mom peeled me
some  crawfish. It was kind of spicy.)

Now we are back home and Mom is on the computer again.

Jaspar and Lola

From Janie on March 31st:

Jaspar dancing with his girlfriend Lola.

We finished puppy class tonight.
Jaspar's first of many diplomas to come.

Ren at five months

From Ren on March 30th:

Hi siblings! First, Mom says to tell you that I weigh 34 pounds,
am 19 and 1/2 inches tall, and have my adult canines (She
likes to keep up with all that stuff. I just like to DO things!).

During last week, I mostly hung out at home.

On Tuesday, my friend Rocket came over to play.

But then it was back to just us at home until Friday.

Friday Mom packed the van and took me to Missouri.
She said I would like visiting Lin. I did like the other
vizslas, but Saturday was kind of yucky. It got really
cold and wet, and we all had to stay in our crates a lot
while Mom and Lin did something called "whelping
puppies." It smelled really interesting, but they
wouldn't let us come look.

Sunday was LOTS better. The sun came out, and we
got to run in Lin's big fields.

I swam in a creek that had lots of frogs. Then Lin got
some birds out of the pen and got to be REALLY fun!

Lin started hiding the birds in the grass while Mom
held me so I couldn't see. I tried to wiggle loose the
first time, but then I figured out what the game
was and waited. I had to run around and smell
the air and point out to the humans where I
smelled a bird. What fun!!

Lin said I had a nice point, but Mom was so busy looking
at me she forgot to use the camera
(we're still working on training Mom).

The big vizsla is Bowie's sister Sunpie. She wouldn't let
me boss her around like I do Bowie. Girls are tougher!
Mom says this weekend we will go to Louisiana and
meet some more vizslas and find birds again. She
promised it would be warmer there. I like it
LOTS better when it's warm!

Rogan Playing

From Crystal on March 24th:

We took Rogan out to the barn today and he had a
grand time playing in the long grass.
